En conversation avec Wael Shawky, Federico Campagna et Romy Wyche
Hold That Thoughts
In this thought-provoking episode of Hold That Thought, we dive into the Mediterranean as a vibrant space of exchange, rather than conflict. Join me as I speak with contemporary artist Wael Shawky and art historians Romy Wyss and Federico Campagna. Together, we explore the interconnectedness of mythology, history, and artistic expression, particularly in the context of Shawky's film set in Pompeii. We discuss how myths shape our understanding of reality, the role of catastrophe in history, and how various cultures reinterpret these narratives over time. This rich conversation unpacks the complexities of artistic creation and the fluidity of myth, revealing how they resonate with contemporary societal challenges. Tune in for a journey through the past that speaks to our present and future.
